Real Zaragoza rescued a point at home to Sporting Gijon despite being down to 10 men and 2-0 down.

Winless Zaragoza were heading for a fourth defeat in six games when Czech midfielder Jiri Jarosik was sent off in the 47th minute and they went 2-0 down at home to Sporting Gijon two minutes later.

An own goal from Ivan Obradovic in the first half put Sporting in front and a penalty from Diego Castro doubled their advantage.

However, two well-taken goals in five minutes from former Atletico Madrid forward Florent Sinama-Pongolle rescued a point.

Despite the result Zaragoza remain rooted to the bottom of the standings on three points.
